Shades of Blue Landscape 9” x 11”

I call my work "Painted Threads”. These pieces are both complex and subtle, using a build up of texture, pattern, and a little paint or dye. The image is painted on a cotton canvas using oil paints and many layers of threads.

The "thread painting" is a built up of continuous layers and layers of different weight of threads. I move across the canvas in a rapid motion using my sewing machine. The threads and embroidery stitches create depth, textures and a new dimension to the paintings using te
