My artwork brings together two of my favorite disciplines: painting and sewing. Most pieces are inspired by the landscapes of New England, capturing their subtle beauty and changing light. I call this body of work Painted Threads.
 
Each piece is both complex and understated, created through a careful buildup of texture, pattern, and layered thread, with touches of paint or dye beneath the surface. The image begins as a painted canvas and evolves through continuous layers of thread in varying weights. Working rapidly with a sewing machine, I stitch across the canvas to create movement, depth, and tactile dimension. Bold, unexpected colors invite viewers in; only upon closer inspection do they realize the artwork is composed entirely of fabric and thread.
